Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique blend. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe. She has also performed at performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine has been born Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta however, her roots lie located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop the musical profession by singing and playing the piano in a church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship in the city's R&B scene. She was the main pianist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine gained national recognition for several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to perform at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
